Join us for Structural Competency Training!

A training for human service and medical providers to discuss incorporating addressing social determinants of health (SDOH) into the daily care of patients and clients. Describe what the common SDOH are and their impact on population health.

Training Objectives:

  • Describe what the common SDOH are and their impact on population health.
  • Identify the ways to address SDOH using screening tools.
  • Understand how to collaborate with Community Based Organization to address SDOH and social needs
  • Explain the differences between structural competency and cultural competency.
  • Identify next steps for implementing screening and addressing SDOH in your own organization.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY) through the joint providership of Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital and Adirondack Health Institute.
